Wedding Etiquette

I was wondering technically what the brides family should pay for compared to the grooms family? I thought the grooms family pays for the rehearsal dinner? Anyone know proper etiquette or is this just in a fairy tale scenario?

Re: Wedding Etiquette

This isnt always the case most people today dont go by this anymore! Traditionally. The brides family pays or reception Groom pays for flowers and Groom Family pays for Rehersal Dinner!

This is how my family is doing it except we ae paying for video not flowers!

Re: Wedding Etiquette

i think things have changed alot....
alot of grooms parents know they're suppose to host the rehersal dinner and give a nice gift amount,
and the brides parents should give a nice gift, or cover the reception...

just my thought on things..

Re: Wedding Etiquette

To take the drama out of everything, we just go lump sums from each set of parents (which were matching & FI and I matched that amount as well) and we are spending the money where ever we need it. I don't want anyone to feel "responsible" for certain aspects of our day. Jeez- if something goes wrong I don't want any finger pointing!
