It is common for the bride, groom, and both sets of parents to contribute toward the wedding. Pool all the money from these and any other helping parties into a shared checking account for the bride and groom-to-be to avoid having contributing parties take over what they say they are paying for. This will also avoid any confusion on who is paying for what.
